Making Friends With Myself

When I saw the Nayyirah Waheed quote, below, (while Instagram stalking), I was (1) moved to tears, and (2) reminded of the Shi Scott video, below, that I saw earlier this week on Facebook: “you are one out of one … and it is your job … to offer that one to the world …that’s why you are here … you have a purpose … you are important … you always will be.”

Woah.  Such wisdom from such a young soul.   And such a great reminder for myself that I am a totally unique, awesome and fun gift to this Universe and I am here to share that gift.  That is my purpose – to share the gift of me.  I am blessed beyond belief to have a second shot at life, and in getting that second shot, I am discovering who I am.  I am a writer.  I am a blogger.  I am an attorney.  I am a daughter.  I am a sister.  I am an aunt.  I am a friend.  I am smart.  I am funny.  I am kind.  I am sober.  I am recovering.

I have a lot to offer this world.

And so do you.

Let’s not forget that.
